Dr. Vivien Rolfe

NCIM Academic Co-Director, and Director of Curiosity Research

Viv started Curiosity in 2023 to provide herbal and nutrition scientific information to help food industry start-ups and charity organisations develop new products or enhance their training and communications. She has a PhD in Gut Physiology from Sheffield University, and has a Foundation in Herbalism from Heartwood Education. She worked for Mars Inc. in animal nutrition research and most recently Pukka Herbs Ltd where she was Head of Herbal Research, managing university partnerships and researching the health benefits of herbs like Shatavari, Turmeric, Liquorice, Mint and others. She has also worked in UK universities, teaching biomedical science and research methods, where she was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship in recognition of her work. She has published over 50 scientific papers, and she has created many educational courses. She runs herbal tea blending workshops for her local community in Gloucestershire where she lives.
