Nutritional Therapist

Helen is a Nutritional Therapist working in nutritional education for a supplement company called Cytoplan, who specialise in Food State and Wholefood Supplements. She has a degree in Biology from the University of Lancaster and a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy from the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM). Currently, she is studying for an MSc in Transdisciplinary Practice. Since becoming qualified as a Nutritional Therapist in 2009, she has worked with clients suffering with a wide range of conditions, as well as lecturing in Nutritional Therapy at the CNM. For the past four years she has been with the nutritional education team at Cytoplan, working as Technical and Product Training Manager.

    1. Task 1: Watch the presentation, Eating for Health and Vitality. Have a copy of the 'Well Formed Outcome' template to hand, see link below the presentation.

    2. Task 2: Complete the Well Formed Outcome exercise & read the Self Care Journey document

    3. Task 3: Menu plan – use the Menu Plan template and Nutrition for Health Recipes handouts (or other sources) to create a menu plan for one week. As explained in the presentation, the aim is to focus on reducing sugary and refined foods

    4. Task 4: Watch the presentation on Nutrition Gap

    5. Task 5: Read the 2006 paper by Professor Bruce Ames

    6. Task 6: Read pages four to fourteen in the booklet ‘Your Guide to Eating Well’

    1. Task 1: Watch the second powerpoint presentation on Eating for Health and Vitality. Pause the presentation to complete the one day food diary recall. Use highlighter pens as explained in the recording

    2. Task 2: Menu plan – use the template and Recipes handout (or other sources) to create a menu plan for one week. Build on the changes you have already made

    3. Task 3: Food and Mood Diary – keep a food and mood diary for seven days

    4. Task 4: Read pages 15 to 25 and 36 to 41 in ‘Your Guide to Eating Well’ booklet
